In dem Artikel bringen wir Environmental Labour Studies und Labour Geography in einen Dialog, um daraus eine ökologische Arbeitsgeografie zu entwickeln. Wir argumentieren, dass Naturverhältnisse und die ökologische Krise widersprüchliche, durch Arbeiter*innen mit-produzierte Räume sind. Am Beispiel der Automobilindustrie schlagen wir drei Konzepte vor, um diese Arbeitsprozesse zu fassen: 1. entfremdete, räumlich situierte Stoffwechsel, 2. ökologische Arbeitsregime; und 3. Geografien des metabolischen Risses. Aus dieser Analyse heraus argumentieren wir, dass die Arbeiter*innenbewegung ihre räumlichen Strategien erneuern muss, um offensiv für eine sozial-ökologische Transformation kämpfen zu können.
