Abstract

A reexamination of the borderline between the working and the middle classes is undertaken, focusing on the class identity of middle classes with respect to the question of class place and class position. Nicos Poulantzas’s approach to the subject is critically evaluated and a more accurate view of middle class subcollectivities is developed.
