Die politische Ökonomie des Stadionbaus für die AFCON 2027

Der Stadionbau für die Afrikameisterschaft 2027 in Kenia, Uganda und Tansania verdeutlicht die politische Ökonomie des Fußballs, in der sportliche Infrastruktur weit über ihren ursprünglichen Zweck hinausgeht. Stadien dienen als Symbole geopolitischer Macht, ökonomischer Interessen und nationaler Prestigeprojekte. Besonders Chinas »Stadiondiplomatie« macht deutlich, wie Infrastrukturprojekte Teil globaler Einflussstrategien sind. Zugleich verstärken Auflagen des afrikanischen Fußballverbandes und internationale Vermarktungslogiken den Investitionsdruck, während die sozialen Kosten, wie Verdrängung, Verschuldung und die Instandhaltungskosten der neuen Arenen, häufig von der Gesellschaft getragen werden.
