Abstract

The historical context of discussions about materialist state theory in (West)Germany since the 1970ies is considered, the main lines of this discussion are reconstructed. With this background shortcomings in the analytical approach of Agnoli and Jan Schlemermeyer’s attempt to refresh this background are discussed.
